Glispy Records follow their debut with a second various-artist drop, keeping proceedings practical and floor-fired. Rydeen's 'Ui Me' opens on a dub siren song turned deep ocean-trench dive, low synth brasses breathing like the gills of a gudgeon; Gauvain's 'Latent Smoke' sits even deeper, as snappier drums and chuting echo effects stoke up a strange stir of science-fiction friction. Our flip side choice has to be Roman Kropko's 'Ti+Si', with a dark, dappled rhythm with an intricacy difficult to match, though it still brings its share of gruffness.
